The Faulkner University Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies offers a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice that’s designed for students who wish to seek employment with criminal justice organizations and law enforcement agencies. Courses are taught by criminal justice faculty who can offer expertise to our students because of their real-world experience working in various criminal justice fields. Our faculty is recognized by peers for their knowledge and effectiveness as instructors.
Our curriculum integrates Christian ethical and moral perspectives with the typical values systems associated with criminal justice and provides a broad-based program of study, including topics that are essential for entering the wide range of fields associated with criminal justice systems.
A Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree requires a total of 122 credit hours consisting of 50 credit hours of core curriculum, including Christian literacy, cultural heritage literacy, information and communication literacy, mathematics and scientific literacy, and personal and social literacy; 54 credit hours of professional literacy, including criminal justice courses and criminal justice electives; and 18 credit hours of general electives.
In addition to studying the basics, such as criminology, criminal law, and criminal justice ethics, you’ll find exciting criminal justice electives, which cover topics geared toward your field of choice, such as fingerprinting, juvenile justice, private security, terrorism, criminal behavior analysis, and more.
